    Stephen: One of the many things that was good about Blade Runner was having a film show at last that any future that’s a continuation of history (as opposed to a clean break) will contain architecture of different styles and periods. Film & TV SF too often applies a broad brush to everything, especially clothing and architecture. This no doubt makes things easier (and cheaper) to film if there’s less detail to create but it’s an approach that doesn’t bear comparison with the real world.
