“the result of a failed love affair with the sculptor Emilio Aladrén, Gibson reveals”. Reveals? It’s been known and accepted by scholars for ages. This is nothing new. Just another author (albeit a good one) with a book to sell, and journalists eager to lap it up without any fact-checking.
The point seems to be that, while the information was well-known, it wasn’t acknowledged fully by the poet’s estate. That makes even less sense now there’s a feature film about Lorca’s relationship with Salvador Dalí.
